2016 Homecoming Parade
The 2016 Homecoming Parade was one of the best AHS has had in several years.  There was a large group of participants and floats, and a great community crowd of support.  Please enjoy the slide show of most of the floats in the parade.

National Merit Semifinalists

AHS seniors Brian McGee and Kevin Robb have achieved recognition as National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

McGee and Robb are two of approximately 16,000 semifinalists nationwide in the 62nd annual National Merit Scholarship program who now have the opportunity to compete for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $33 million that will be offered next spring. These winners will be announced between April and July 2017. The scholarship recipients will join more than 323,000 other distinguished young people who have earned the Merit Scholar title.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance, was established in 1955 specifically to conduct the NMS Program. Scholarships are underwritten by NMSC with its own funds and by approximately 420 business organizations and higher-education institutions that share the corporation’s goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence.

Food Deliveries to School
The Aledo High School Student Handbook Supplement states: Food deliveries may only be brought in by the parent of the child. A parent may not bring food for students other than their own child. This will not interrupt the instructional environment and should be limited to special occasions. The management of food deliveries often becomes a disruption to the everyday business of our front office. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
